Acoustics

The Construction Technology Centre has advanced equipment in applied acoustics and vibrations with which to develop R&D&I projects, as well as to offer companies services of the highest quality and professionalism.

SUB-AREAS

CTCON offers a comprehensive consultancy service to insulate and acoustically condition any type of building. Our work methodology is divided into three phases:

  • Study and analysis: Qualified personnel analyse the basic project of the work taking into account the parameters of acoustic insulation and conditioning.
  • Project: Once the preliminary study has been carried out, the acoustic project is developed, introducing solutions that comply with the Basic Document HR Noise Protection of the Technical Building Code. As a complement to the completion of the study, a compliance check will be carried out with our calculation software.
  • Preparation of acoustic reports: These will be carried out by means of on-site checks and tests with a representative sampling of the building.

CTCON has technologically advanced equipment for noise measurements, acoustic tests and on-site inspections in the fields of Building, Industry and Environment. In response to the needs of the sector, CTCON carries out the following types of activities in the field of noise measurements, acoustic tests and reports:

  • Determination of ambient and immission noise levels in dwellings, according to UNE-ISO 1996-2:2009.
  • In situ measurement of sound insulation in buildings and building elements according to UNE-EN ISO 16283-1:2015.
  • In-situ measurement of sound insulation in buildings and building elements according to UNE-EN ISO 16283-2:2016
  • In situ measurement of sound insulation in buildings and building elements according to UNE-EN ISO 16283-3:2016.
  • Reverberation time measurement, according to UNE-EN ISO 3382-2:2008.
  • Determination of sound power levels and sound energy levels of noise sources from sound pressure. Control method using an enveloping measurement surface on a reflecting plane, according to UNE-EN ISO 3746: 2011.
  • Determination of the sound absorption coefficient of the acoustic impedance in impedance tubes. Part 2: Transfer function method, according to UNE-EN ISO 10534-2:2002.

In the modern era, noise has become a constant and unwanted companion in our lives. Studies have shown that prolonged exposure to noise can cause everything from cardiovascular disease to serious mental health disorders. This is why quiet in the home has become a prime necessity.

In recognition of this growing demand, CTCON offers the service of certification of acoustic insulation and acoustic classification of buildings.

The acoustic insulation certificate is designed to ensure that buildings comply with current regulations. On the other hand, the acoustic classification allows you to know and value the serenity and tranquillity provided by the building according to its degree of insulation to external noise.

The benefits of these studies are manifold. Not only will it comply with legal standards, it will also increase the value of the property, making it more attractive to potential residents or users.
