Next Key BIM Workshop on Sustainable Building certifications and Next Generation EU Funds in Granada

Aim of the project

The COA - Granada hosts the conference 'BIM key in Sustainable Building certifications and Next Generation EU Funds', organised by BioEconomicon 21 October, at 10am.

The welcome and presentation will be given by Luis Alberto Martínez Cañas, dean - president of the Official College of Architects of Granada and Sebastià Parera, manager of BioEconomic.

It will be possible to attend different presentations:

  • Adapting to the Digital Transformation: An opportunity for the Construction Sector, by Andrés Ferrer Santiago, manager of the CSA Cluster, Sustainable Construction of Andalusia.

  • Healthy and Sustainable Construction with BREEAM, LEED, WELL, Passivhaus, benefits with BIM, by José Antonio Morán Martín, AEC BIM Specialist Asidek.

  • Zoning for comfort and energy savings, solutions that Airzone brings to BREEAM, WELL and its BIM tools, by Miriam Mozota, Corporate Prescription Engineer, Airzone - Corporación Empresarial.

  • BREEAM certified case studies and success stories, Jardinana Villa, Cala de Mijas and The Edge, by Mario Romero González, Architect Partner, HCP Architecture & Engineering and Ana Avilés, Architect BIM Specialist, HCP Architecture & Engineering.

  • Case studies and success stories of Passivhaus dwellings in warm climates Mario Garay, consultant in design and construction of nZEB buildings, Passivhaus and delegate of the PEP Platform in Andalusia.

It can also be seen that the materials used in the project serve as an example to explain the benefits of combining the methodology in the cases of BREEAM - LEED - Passivhaus - WELL Building Standard. They make it possible to evaluate and check the environmental impact of a building from the time it is constructed until the end of its useful life. The BIM system allows a quick and precise calculation of all the volumes of materials, which speeds up the process and allows the most suitable materials to be chosen in order to be eligible to obtain the certificates. The process would be much more complex and time-consuming if the BIM working method were not used.
