It is clear that the transition to a circular economy and adaptation to climate change will completely change the way we develop. At CTCON, we work to help companies and society to achieve real solutions in the short and medium term, adapted to this new global approach. The efficiency and competitiveness of the industry depends to a large extent on an accelerated adaptation to these global changes, and for this reason, in the area of sustainable construction and climate change we work on:
We are working on the research and development of the cements of the future. We are mainly pursuing two main lines of research:
The first aims to reduce the carbon footprint of these products. To this end, work is being carried out on the development of supplementary cementitious materials and geopolymers to significantly reduce the clinker content, as well as to obtain improved properties and greater added value for specific applications.
The second line develops special cements for specific applications according to customer needs.
Concrete and mortar are among the most widely used materials in the world. These materials are constantly evolving and at CTCON we develop custom-optimised mortars and concretes for companies.
Closing the life cycle of waste, products and raw materials by recovering them, avoiding the use of landfills. The treatment and management of waste and research into more environmentally friendly materials developed from it allows the useful life of products to be extended while creating added value. CTCON works with a multitude of wastes that currently have no outlet for their reintroduction into the production system, giving priority to those that pose the greatest environmental problems and those that are generated in the greatest quantities. For example, we are highly specialised in the treatment and application of construction and demolition waste.
High precision and maximum material savings from the manufacture of complex geometry with 3D printing as a measure to increase the competitiveness of companies and enable the development of technologically advanced elements that offer a solution to the demanding requirements of the market. Its versatility is given by its manufacturing capacity, while the modification of the traditional concept of production makes additive manufacturing a sustainable method.
At CTCON we work on the development of new materials and construction solutions that improve the seismic behaviour of buildings.
CTCON works to reduce the environmental impact of buildings, trying to reduce energy consumption by taking advantage of the resources available in the area. For example, we research and develop new highly efficient insulation, or new materials and solutions for roofs and cold facades that improve energy efficiency. In addition, assessment methodologies and tools (EPD and LCA) make it possible to analyse the sustainability of materials and move towards a Circular Economy.
