BUILDING REVOLUTION - Success at the 1st Innovation in Construction Congress

Aim of the project

Leading professionals and benchmarks from the national and international scene gathered in Murcia to explore the latest trends in architecture, industrialised construction and digital and sustainable transformation.

The event was held at the Auditorio y Centro de Congresos "Víctor Villegas" in Murcia on 29 February. It was organised by the Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia, in collaboration with FRECOM and the Instituto de Fomento de la Región de Murcia (Murcia Regional Development Institute)The event brought together more than 200 leading professionals from the sector.

The congress began with the inauguration by the President of FRECOM, Mr. José Hernández, followed by a keynote speech by Mr. Fernando Trías de Bes, renowned economist and writer, who addressed the crucial role of innovation in the construction industry.

The programme included round tables, which addressed key topics such as "Building the Future", "Digital Transformation and Industrialisation in Construction", in which our president Mr. Antonio Navarro was the moderator, and "Innovation, Sustainability and Public-Private Collaboration". Leading representatives from leading companies such as Ferrovial, ACCIONA, AEDAS Homes, Hozono Global, Ninety Days, Lignum Tech, National Construction Confederation, CaixaBank and INFO shared their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

The importance of digital transformation was a recurring theme throughout the event. Experts such as Juan López Payá and Alejandro de Zunzunegui emphasised the need to adopt artificial intelligence and other technologies to boost efficiency and competitiveness.

The last round table of the congress focused on sustainability, where Mr. Pedro Fernández Alén urged the industry to address the decarbonisation and rehabilitation of the building stock. The need for institutional support and the commitment to reducing the carbon footprint were highlighted.

The 1st Congress on Innovation in Construction has been a meeting point for professionals in the sector, marking the path towards a more efficient, sustainable and digitalised construction.
