CTCON and the Séneca Foundation - Science and Technology Agency of the Region of Murcia sign an agreement to promote the recruitment of talent in the sector.

Aim of the project

The signing of the agreement will enable progress to be made in research, development and technology transfer in the construction sector, as it aims to set up a programme of grants (3 at the moment) associated with the implementation of R&D&I projects at CTCON. The agreement, which will last 3 years and can be extended by agreement between the parties, will finance research programmes. In this first year, 3 research projects will be financed, within CTCON's lines of research and areas of work:

1. Development of new CO2-neutral cement-based materials

2. Bituminous and synthetic binders for the development of sustainable multifunctional pavements.

3. Digital Models for application in Cultural Heritage Construction and Conservation

These projects will allow, on the one hand, the incorporation of research talent into CTCON's structure, enabling companies in the Region of Murcia to benefit both from the results of this research and from the knowledge generated for future research, making the construction sector more competitive both in the region and beyond. On the other hand, this research is part of the Sustainability and Digitalisation lines that Europe is promoting within the latest directives, reinforcing the commitment of both CTCON and the Region of Murcia to the objectives of the European Union.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Juan María Vázquez Rojas, Regional Minister of Environment, Universities, Research and Mar Menor of the Region of Murcia and Mr. Antonio Navarro Mompeán, President of CTCON, in the presence of Mr. Antonio Caballero Pérez, Director General of Universities and Research and Mr. Antonio González Valverde, Director of the Seneca Foundation - Science and Technology Agency of the Region of Murcia.
