During the last week of April, the DigiLab/BE project partners met in Finland to discuss the progress of the project and the creation of a digital platform that will enable students and the general public to learn how to create, use and learn from digital twins in the field of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC).
The aim of the project is to teach the concept of digital twins, how to build them and turn them into virtual laboratories where creativity can be applied to the generation of new content and ways of teaching.
The project seeks to address the specific needs of familiarising and training AEC students in the digital technologies that are transforming the sector, motivating them to develop a critical and creative spirit in relation to digital transformation, enhancing their employability and promoting an attractive, inclusive and accessible education.
The project is funded by Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships, which aims to enable organisations to increase the quality and relevance of their activities, develop and strengthen their networks of partners and increase their capacity to operate jointly at transnational level.
The project DigiLab/BE will be divided into six parts and the results are expected to be reusable, transferable, scalable and with a strong transdisciplinary dimension. The digital platform they are creating will enable students and the general public to learn in a more modern and effective way, and will help bridge the gap between education and the professional world in the field of AEC.
