Published a guide with estimated national ratios of construction and demolition waste generation.

Aim of the project

An adequate study should include the types and quantities of waste expected to be generated, and the measures envisaged for the separation of each type of waste and its correct management. The manual published by CGATE and CSCAE will allow estimating the quantities and types of waste that will be generated on any construction site.

This guide to construction waste ratios aims to provide a solution to the dispersion of construction and demolition waste (CDW) generation ratios. To this end, a series of parameterised tables have been created to help and guide professionals in calculating the amount of waste likely to be generated on a construction site in different climatic regions.

The content of this manual establishes, in an orderly and classified manner, indicative ratios of CDW in residential and tertiary buildings for five major regions according to geographical and climatic conditions, types of action (new construction and demolition) and sources of data analysed and weighted.
