The eCOB® BIM Object Creation Standard is a tool for the generation of generic or industrial BIM objects that provides them with a consistent and technically rigorous information structure, facilitating interoperability between BIM programmes throughout the entire construction lifecycle.
This standard is conceived as an open, evolving and collaborative document, which is reflected in the interest of linking the main actors in the sector to incorporate the uniqueness of each product range to its description in the standard.
Since the first publication of the library of generic BIM objects for precast concrete elements, ANDECE has been working hard to facilitate the adaptation of its member companies to the growing importance of BIM methodology in construction projects. For its part, eCOB® aims to have a suitable information structure for each type of construction product, with which manufacturers feel well reflected and supported, based on a technical vision that brings rigour and consistency to the participation of their products in the new digital processes, based on BIM. In this way, ANDECE is committed to contributing its knowledge and experience on the wide diversity of precast concrete solutions, so that the information contained in the eCOB® standard on the BIM objects of precast concrete products is technically adequate.
