Road transport infrastructures are essential elements in national connectivity and mobility, essential for the structuring of the territory and the improvement of social cohesion. Road transport is a basic tool in the economic and social development of a country, as it allows the flow of goods and people throughout its territory. In this context, in recent years, there has been an important paradigm shift in the production of road surfaces, motivated by issues related to the extraction and synthesis of the natural resources necessary for their manufacture.

With these considerations, the General Objective of the BIOREPAV project is to develop bio-materials, obtained from the revaluation of waste, which are integrated into the production process of bituminous mixtures, contributing to an improvement in sustainability. As a main result, it is expected to minimise the consumption of natural resources in the manufacture of asphalt mixtures, responding to a growing environmental and energy concern, not only in the construction sector, but in society as a whole.

In short, this project aims to cover specific needs within the construction sector, developing new materials and paving obtained from the revaluation of different waste produced in the Region of Murcia.
