New methods for determining the strength of concrete at early ages
Aim of the project
Knowing the real resistance at early ages of concretes placed on site is of great interest for the construction sector and for society, given that, at present, in most constructions, the resistance is estimated on specimens that are cured in ideal laboratory conditions that may be very different from the conditions found on site.
In recent years, methods are being researched and developed to obtain the real strength of in-situ concrete. This is the aim of this project, in which we propose to investigate and develop a method for estimating the real strength of in-situ concrete with high accuracy, using non-destructive techniques that are easy to implement on site.
