A TERRITORIAL CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM FOR A CIRCULAR LOW-CARBON BUILT ENVIRONMENT
Aim of the project
The main objective of the project is the development of low-carbon alternatives to Ordinary Portland Cement for both renovation and new construction, while integrating construction and demolition waste and other highly available industrial waste into the process. To achieve this, building components specifically designed to be modular and demountable will be manufactured, facilitating their reuse and recycling.
One of the central focuses of RECONSTRUCT lies in the integration of the deconstruction in design and construction of circular buildings, with the aim of reduce carbon emissions and limit the generation of waste throughout its life cycle. This goal will be achieved through the extensive use of the digitalisation in building materialsproducts and processes. Advanced digital tools will be introduced to support the design, construction and dismantling stages of these circular buildings.
In addition, RECONSTRUCT seeks to generate value across the entire construction sector through the creation of regional ecosystems known as "regional ecosystems".Circular Clusters". These ecosystems will be set up in both Brussels and Barcelona, bringing together diverse stakeholders covering all aspects of circular construction, thus fostering collaboration and synergy between them.
CTCON leads the development, creation and industrial production of new circular materials and products from local industrial waste such as construction and demolition waste.
