Bringing science closer to the public of all ages, stimulating a taste for scientific knowledge and encouraging the participation of citizens in scientific issues through outreach activities are the objectives of the 415 activities of the Science and Technology Week of the Region of Murcia (SeCyT 18), which celebrates its XVII edition between 26 and 28 October in the Malecón Garden in Murcia.
More than 500 scientists, technologists, popularisers and educators from 57 institutions will carry out the activities in direct contact with the public in order to discover, observe, enjoy and participate in science in this regional government initiative organised by the Fundación Séneca-Agencia de Ciencia y Tecnología de la Región de Murcia (Seneca Foundation-Agency for Science and Technology of the Region of Murcia).
The Regional Minister for Employment, Universities, Enterprise and the Environment, Javier Celdrán, today presented the new edition of SeCyT 18, which "represents the greatest collective effort made in our Region to bring, disseminate, communicate and stimulate interest and curiosity in science in society, with more activities and participants than ever before".
