Masterclass Circular Economy, organised by PTEC

The circular economy is a new paradigm of production and consumption, as opposed to the linear model of "extract, make, use and dispose". It is based on three principles: the elimination of waste by design, the maintenance of products and materials in use, and the regeneration of natural systems, all based on renewable energy sources.

The construction industry is responsible for half of the energy consumption and extracted materials, a quarter of the water, as well as the generation of more than a quarter of the waste (2014 EU data). It has been included as one of the five priority areas of both the Spain Circular 2030 Strategy (in draft form) as well as the New EU Action Plan for the Circular Economy (COM2020 98 final, one of the pillars of the European Green Pact).

In fact, greater circularity of actors in the sector presents numerous opportunities in the form of higher revenues, lower costs, greater security of supply, greater proximity to the user and, in general, new business opportunities.

Aimed at

Aimed at professionals in the construction sector interested in exploring circular economy options for their organisations: engineering and architecture companies, construction material manufacturers, construction companies and their subcontractors, demolition and CDW management companies, etc.
