The aim of this conference is to present a new technical tool, in the form of a manual or guide to optimise the selection of construction solutions for asphalt pavements on roads with low traffic intensity. This guide proposes a design procedure that allows the most appropriate solutions to be selected from among all the possible construction solutions, taking into account the parameters and determining factors of the road to be paved using bituminous mixes. The procedure is valid for the paving of urban and interurban roads, both for new construction and rehabilitation works. This document is part of a series of Quality Guidelines for Paving Applicability, an excellent technical reference for professionals. The use of a coding system for the needs of the road and the solutions adopted makes the selection process transparent in terms of the parameters to which the proposed construction solutions respond and the performance obtained. It is therefore configured as a voluntary regulatory tool to support the achievement of quality.
