The Asociación Empresarial de Investigación Centro Tecnológico de la Construcción Región de Murcia (CTCON) is a private non-profit business association whose main objective is the development of any activity aimed at advancing technology, quality, competitiveness and expansion of the construction sector and related industries.

Since our creation in 2003, we have contributed to the technological development and competitiveness of the business fabric of the Region of Murcia through learning, specialisation and subsequent transfer to CTCON members and our clients of technologies related to our areas of knowledge.

Our main task is the development of R&D&I Projects, although for the complete development of the sector we provide Advanced Technological Services, Specialised Training services and Technology Dissemination and Surveillance services. Since 2022, CTCON has been registered in the National Register of Technology Centres as a Technology Innovation Support Centre (Registration No. 23).

CTCON's mission is to provide companies and professionals in the Region of Murcia and the construction sector in general with the tools for continuous improvement and increased competitiveness through Research, Development, Innovation and Technology Transfer.

CTCON aims to be an international benchmark in R&D&I activities in the field of construction, an economically sustainable entity, an entity committed to the environment, to the circular economy and in line with the social reality of our environment, an entity with highly qualified and motivated professionals and technicians, which contributes together with other agents to the improvement of the built environment.

Antonio Trigueros Romero

Director

Antonio holds a degree in Industrial Technical Engineering, specialising in Industrial Electricity (UPCT 1992-1997). Industrial Engineer (UPCT 1997-200). Since 2003, he has been working at CTCON, where he started as a Project Control Technician. He is currently the director of CTCON since 2004, where he is also in charge of the coordination of R&D&I projects. He has participated in more than 20 research projects during the last decade. As professional experience, he has worked in Planning and Project Control in the construction of the Lexan-II Plant (GE PLASTICS) 2000-2003. Self-employed since 1996, as manager and administrator of a family company of Groundwater Drilling (until 2004). 

Carlos Luis Rodríguez López

Sustainable Construction and Climate Change Area

He holds a degree in Building Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and a PhD in sustainable construction from the University of Alicante. At the beginning of his professional career, he worked in an architectural firm carrying out building projects, construction supervision, M&S coordination, etc.

In 2008, he turned his professional career towards research and development of materials and new products for construction. He holds a Master's degree specialising in materials, water and soil. He has participated in numerous research projects and has made numerous international publications in scientific journals and conferences. He has been coordinating the Sustainable Construction department at CTCON since 2008.

Miriam Hernández Pérez

Sustainable Construction and Climate Change Area

Graduate in Civil Engineering (specialising in Hydrology and Civil Construction) and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. She began her professional career in the Water and Sewerage Operation Department of the company Servicios Comunitarios de Molina, S.A. (SERCOMOSA), carrying out tasks of control and data analysis of the SCADAs for the sectorisation of the networks, participating in the development of the data model of the water supply and sewerage system for its implementation in the Geographic Information System (GIS), collaborating in the design and implementation of the water and sewerage registers in GIS and coordinating teams searching for leaks.

In 2017 he turned his career towards R&D, starting his activity at CTCON. He is part of the Sustainable Construction Area where he actively participates in the search for technologically advanced products with improved properties. His fields of research focus on sustainable construction and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems.

Marina Sánchez Rubio

Sustainable Construction and Climate Change Area

Graduate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Murcia. During 2018, she did an external internship in the quality department of Agrucapers S.A., where she carried out tasks such as the analysis and control of raw materials and final products, as well as participating in the continuous improvement of the production plant.

In 2020, he began his career at CTCON, becoming part of the Materials Area and directing his working life towards R&D. He actively participates in the development of projects aimed at obtaining new technologically advanced materials with improved properties and performance.

Cristina Castillo García

Digital Construction Area

She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Murcia, a degree in Agri-Food Engineering and Biological Systems from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and an Executive Master's Degree in Innovation from the EOI. In her early professional career she worked for the University of Murcia carrying out national R&D&I projects in the area of Organic Chemistry. In 2010 he started working in technical assistance for public entities in Geographic Information Systems, both in the area of Infrastructures and Agriculture. In 2014 to 2018 he worked at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena in charge of the LIFE+ IRRIMAN project, after which he created a company to provide technical support to companies in the agricultural sector to help them in their digitisation. In 2022, she joined the CTCON team as coordinator of the Digital Area.

Gloria Motos Cascales

Land Infrastructure Area

He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. During the first years of his professional career, he worked as a design engineer, carrying out activities related to project development, project management, etc.

In 2017 he joined the Centro Tecnológico de la Construcción in the pavement department and since then he has developed numerous R&D projects related to materials, bituminous mixtures and digital construction. In 2019 he obtained a Master's Degree in BIM methodology for the development of infrastructure projects. He is currently pursuing a PhD in modelling in civil, mining and environmental engineering. 

Víctor García Rabadán

Land Infrastructure Area

He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. Additionally, in 2013, he obtained an MEng in Civil Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University.

During the first years of his professional career he worked as a design engineer carrying out activities related to calculation, technical supervision and management of building and civil works projects. At the end of 2020, he joined the Construction Technology Centre to form part of the Land Infrastructure Area, with the aim of developing R&D projects related to materials, bituminous mixtures and digital construction.

Lorena Fernández Seoane

Energy Area

In 2013 he graduated in Environmental Sciences from the University of Murcia. In 2014 he obtained a Master's degree in Biodiversity and Conservation ".Biodiversity & Conservation Msc"He has been involved in research projects on the ecology of the African savannah in Kenya and others related to the impact of herbivores on flora and soil degradation.

During 2014 he worked as an environmental technician at Smeeden Foreman, an environmental consultancy in North Yorkshire (England).

From 2015 to 2017 she worked as an environmental technician in Fuente de Columbares with the project "Municipios por la Sostenibilidad" and as an environmental educator.

At the beginning of 2018 and until 2020 he worked at Acre Ambiental, acoustic engineering, participating, among others, in the realisation of the Strategic Noise Map of Cartagena.

In March 2021 he joined the Construction Technology Centre in the Energy and Insulation Area of CTCON where he develops R&D&I projects, as well as company services related to the improvement of energy efficiency and the reduction of acoustic impact.

Roberto Rodríguez Álvaro

Sustainable Construction and Climate Change

He holds a degree in Technical Architecture and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the Universidade da Coruña. He also holds a Master's Degree in Integrated Building Management (specialising in the Environment) from the University of Seville. He has collaborated as a university lecturer and has worked with several companies and research groups in the construction sector, both in Spain and abroad (The Netherlands and Canada).

His doctoral thesis deals with the internal curing of high performance concretes using coal bottom ash and biomass. This work has allowed him to design and execute laboratory tests for the study of various properties. In addition, he has worked on several research projects with other eco-efficient cement-based materials, incorporating different industrial by-products.

Manuel Iniesta Castillo

Laboratory

He is a Technical Specialist in Analysis and Processes. During the first years of his professional life he worked in the automotive sector, more specifically in the after-sales department, later moving on to the world of construction. He did his practical training for his chemical studies in a laboratory in the construction sector, where he later worked as an analyst in the Quality Control and Technical Assistance Departments. Subsequently, he joined Applus Construcción Técnica, S.A. where he worked as Head and Analyst of the Construction Quality Control Laboratory. In 2007 he joined the CTCON team as a Materials, Concrete and Bituminous Mixtures Laboratory Technician. During this time he has participated in more than 40 research projects with companies and CTCON itself. With regard to his continuous training, the courses and conferences he has attended include Building Inspection Methodology.

Testing and Testing in COAATIEMU 2015, The Current State of Hot Mix Asphalt, Regulations, Production and Quality Control in 2012, Laboratory Management System. UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 in 2010, The New RC-08 and EHE-08 in IECA 2010, EHE-08. Materials, Execution and Control in COAATMU 2009, Soundbook Handling, Expert Mode Sonometer and Impedance Tube in ALAVA INGENIEROS 2009, Concrete for Laboratory Technicians in CEDEX Ministerio de Fomento 2009, Quality Audits. Methodology at AENOR 2008, Infrared Thermography Techniques (Level I) at BULCASE 2007, etc., etc. He currently continues to work in the CTCON laboratory.

Mª Francisca Tijeras Sagredo

Administration Department

She holds a Diploma in Business Studies from the University of Almeria. During the first years of her professional career she worked in the Administration Department of a company dedicated to the development and construction of housing.

Once settled in Murcia, in 2005, she joined the staff of the Centro Tecnológico de la Construcción (CTCON), to take charge of the Administration Department. In 2013, she took the EXECUTIVE MBA I and II training course, organised by CEPYME (Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises). Specialised in financial accounting for both operating and capital subsidies, she is currently still in charge of the Administration Area at CTCON.

Isabel González Sánchez

Administration Department

Isabel studied the Intermediate Degree in Administration and Finance in 2015, including dual vocational training in the insurance sector. She then completed her training with the Higher Module in Administration and Finance at IES Cañada de las Eras, finishing in March 2019. 

He did his internship in a multinational company in the lighting sector. He joined CTCON's Administration department in 2019, where he performs administrative tasks and financial justification of projects.

Business Development and Institutional Relations Manager

Jorge Martínez Montesinos

Degree in Chemistry (specialising in Fundamental Chemistry). Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (safety, hygiene and ergonomics). Two years as a research fellow at the University of Murcia. Regarding his professional experience, he has worked for 19 years in Labaqua S.A. (Veolia Group), Sanitary Proyectos y Obras and Euroformac Formación in tasks related to the environment, Department Head, teaching, Product and Business Development. Articles in magazines and publications in international and national congresses related to the environment. Currently responsible for Business Development and Institutional Relations.

Encarni Martínez Moreno

Graduate in Civil Engineering (specialising in Hydrology and Civil Construction), Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (specialising in Transport and Urban Planning) and Doctorate in Civil Engineering, all degrees taken at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. She also holds a Master's Degree in Logistics and Operations Management from the ENAE Business School and the University of Murcia. She has extensive professional experience, starting to forge her career as a research staff at the UPCT in 2018, as well as R&D consultant, civil works calculator and project engineer. This activity has led her to form part, since 2023, of the Terrestrial Infrastructures Area of CTCON.

Pablo Gómez García

He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Murcia.

His professional experience began in the water sector in the design, manufacture, commissioning and maintenance of industrial treatment plants. Subsequently, he has worked in several laboratories in the Region of Murcia, dedicated to quality control in the food sector, carrying out analysis and validation of procedures.

In 2023 he took the plunge and focused his career on R&D at CTCON, within the Sustainable Construction and Climate Change area, where he works on projects related to the research and development of construction materials that contribute to the transition towards a circular, more sustainable economy and help mitigate climate change.

Adrián Sáez Martínez

He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT). He began his professional career in the Electromagnetism and Matter Group of the UPCT, where he collaborated in R+D+i projects focused on the design and optimisation of microwave applicators.

In 2017, he went on to work as a data engineer specialising in Business Intelligence at the technology consultancy firm Everis. Subsequently, he joined Minderest, a company dedicated to the development of price monitoring solutions, where he led the team responsible for the registration and integration of new clients on the platform.

In 2023, he joined the Construction Technology Centre in the Digital Construction Area, where he is currently developing R&D&I projects.

Ramón Gullón Murcia

He graduated in Physics from the University of Murcia and did his research internship at CENTIC (Centro Tecnológico de las TIC de la Región de Murcia) applying artificial intelligence techniques for the analysis of large volumes of data. During his Final Degree Project, he participated in an event in Innsbruck (Austria) on ultracold quantum gases, in the context of quantum technologies.

As for his professional experience, he has worked for a year as a SAP consultant, helping the digitalisation of large industrial companies, such as pharmaceutical cooperatives and transport multinationals. In 2024 he joins CTCON as a researcher in the area of digital construction.

José Ramón Pérez Martínez

Graduate in Chemistry from the University of Murcia. Master's Degree in Nanoscience and Molecular Nanotechnology from the University of Valencia, in which he obtained the extraordinary prize of the PEX-Santander 2022 Call.

He began his research career that same year at the Institute of Molecular Science, as part of the 2DChem group, with which he participated in international conferences.

Afterwards, he worked as a manufacturing technician at Interplasp S.L. until 2024, when he joined the Construction Technology Centre in the Department of Land Infrastructures, with the aim of carrying out projects on materials, bituminous mixtures and sustainable urban pavements.

Fernando Fernández Luque

He holds a PhD in Chemistry with an industrial mention from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaga. He also holds a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. During his academic career he has collaborated with research groups in the construction sector. He has spent time at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

 His doctoral thesis with industrial mention deals with the design and development of a self-healing and eco-efficient mortar for 3D printing. This work has allowed him to gain extensive knowledge in the design and development of low carbon footprint mortars for various applications and in the study of the durability of cementitious materials. He is currently working in the Sustainable Construction and Climate Change department at the Construction Technology Centre as a Project Technician.

Felipe Martí Montava

Industrial technical engineer (specialising in industrial chemistry). Materials engineer. PhD in engineering and industrial production, specialising in the manufacture of hydrated calcium silicates by hydrothermal treatment for thermal insulation and passive fire protection. During his industrial doctorate studies, he spent three years as a researcher at the technology and research centre of the Etex Group (Belgium). In addition, he has made academic stays at the ISTerre, Université Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble (France). He has around 8 years of research experience at national and international level in the construction, automotive and packaging industries in companies such as POHUER CREATIVE INJECTION S.L., TESELA Materiales, Innovación y Patrimonio, Dow Chemical, SEAT, INCOM Group. He currently holds the position of R&D&I project technician in the area of sustainable construction and climate change at the Construction Technology Centre of the Region of Murcia.
