Andece publishes its sectoral environmental declarations for precast concrete elements

Aim of the project

The characteristics of the different environmental self-declarations are detailed below:

  • Linear structural elements: The production facilities of 18 member companies have participated in the elaboration of this ADAP, representing around 40% of the total national production of precast concrete elements for building structures (beams, columns, purlins, portal frames and foundations) and bridges (beams and piers). The cradle-to-gate cycle has been analysed, which includes the procurement and preparation of raw materials (module A1), the transport of these materials to the factory (A2) and the production phase until the product is finished (A3).
  • Floor slabs: This ADAP also includes the processes concentrated in stages A1 to A3, and referring to precast concrete elements intended for building floors, such as hollow core slabs, pre-slabs, ribbed elements, solid slabs and joists. In this case, a total of 18 companies have participated, representing another 40% of the national production of this type of elements.
  • Reinforced concrete panels: The façades are made from prefabricated concrete panels, industrialised products that offer a wide variety of finishes and guarantee formal compliance with the dimensions and geometric configurations envisaged, combining all the advantages of industrialised construction.
  • GRC panels: GRC (glass fibre reinforced concrete) panels are a very characteristic typology within the diversity of precast concrete elements, as their production process has a series of particularities that lead to them being treated specifically, leading to certain results determined in the Life Cycle Analysis that has been carried out.
  • Piping: The inventory data considered represents an approximate 37.71% of the production of that type of precast concrete piping elements in Spain. In this category, the production of elements such as concrete pipes, concrete pipes with sheet metal casing, manholes, manholes, vaults, vaults, voussoirs and frames has been evaluated.
  • Lightweight hollow elements: This category is composed of lightweight elements, generally hollow and for purposes within the building, such as blocks and bricks for masonry walls and interior partitions, or vaults and caissons for the construction of floor slabs. The participating member companies account for 42% of the national production of this type of element.
  • Paving: The last ADAP includes precast concrete elements intended for the construction of pavements, such as paving blocks, concrete tiles and terrazzo tiles, both for indoor and outdoor use, and kerbs. The representativeness of the companies in this category accounts for 45% of national production.
