Prevention experts and professionals will analyse the present and future of the sector at the next INSST technical conference.

Aim of the project

The National Institute for Safety and Health at Work (INSST) has organised a technical conference on Wednesday, 25 September, on "Construction sector: challenges and innovations".. The event is presented as a meeting point where experts and professionals will analyse the current situation and prospects of the sector in terms of health and safety, sustainability and competitiveness.

The event, which will be held at the INSST headquarters in Madrid in the morning, will serve as a stage for the analysis of the present and future of the sector, with emphasis on the most important challenges that construction will have to face and the technological innovations that will go hand in hand with the development of the sector.

The conference will be opened by the Institute's director, Javier Pinilla, and will be attended by representatives from different companies and institutions in the sector, who will take part in three round tables: "Challenges for reducing occupational accidents in construction"; "Innovations in construction. Competitiveness, sustainability and safety", and "Reflections, what are the keys to improving safety at work on construction sites?

The director of the Health and Safety Area of the Construction Labour Foundation, David Sáez Chicharro, will participate in the second of these round tables, "Innovations in construction. Competitiveness, sustainability and safety", with the paper "BIM and work at height: innovative applications in PRL".

The representative of the joint entity will review the latest tools developed by the Labour Foundation through its Training and Health and Safety projects, and will present the Testing Laboratory of the organisation in Logroño.

In addition, Sáez will unveil the free tool PRL in BIM. An application made available to companies, designers, technicians and workers in the construction sector with which any user can directly upload their virtual model - in IFC format - and generate the digital BIM health and safety model. In addition, it allows the placement, in a 3D virtual model, of collective protections such as: fences, site huts, handrails, nets, hole protections, site signage, etc.
