The project ECOCEM started in 2018 with the aim of developing hydraulic binders with a near-zero carbon footprint from geopolymers, to obtain products with significant technical advantages over conventional products.
This month the CPI (Concrete Plan International) magazine publishes an article https://www.cpi-worldwide.com/en/channels/masa on one of the products developed within this project: acid-resistant concrete sanitation pipes.
ECOCEM is a project in which the following have participated:
The Construction Technology Centre
Cementos Cruz,
Urdecon Constructions
Bortubo,
The UPCT and
the University of Alicante
Thanks to all participants, several products have already been patented after excellent results and ends with the launch of a new range of products based on alkaline activated cementitious materials, which is a major milestone in the cement industry, contributing to a circular economy and the reduction of greenhouse gases.
