Person Profile.
A company dedicated to carrying out Research, Development and Innovation projects and activities is looking for a technician to join its staff. The company develops R&D&I projects focused on the construction and infrastructure sector, promoting sustainability, the search for new materials and construction processes, all supported by new technologies.
The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team where creativity and technological development will be applied to the generation and implementation of ideas that will lead to improved processes and results for companies in the sector, through digital technologies.
The candidate will work in the regional, national and international R&D&I ecosystem, learning about the objectives, methodologies, support and funding instruments, cooperation strategies, etc., that shape the R&D sector.
The duties of the person within the department are:
- Design and implement solutions based on ICT technologies.
- To carry out technology watch to identify lines of research that will benefit the sector and its companies.
- Participation in identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions in a collaborative environment within the department, with other departments of the Centre and with other external partners, such as companies, universities, etc.
- To develop R&D&I projects in the aforementioned cooperative environment, working mainly with companies, universities and other research centres.
A person with the following attitudes and skills, which define the work of a researcher, is required:
- Ability to work with digital technologies, preferably acquired in a university degree.
- High level of spoken and written English (minimum B2). Knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
- Experience in the field of R&D&I will be an asset, as well as the possession of a PhD degree or being in the process of obtaining it.
- Interest and ability to work in a collaborative environment, taking responsibility for parts of the overall research and development.
- Work on the basis of needs and results and not on the basis of technologies or programming languages.
- Ability to search for information in different sources, both in English and Spanish, in order to find out what is being developed in the world in a specific field.
- Observation and analysis skills to identify problems, inefficiencies and areas for improvement in current activities, tasks and systems in order to provide alternatives.
- Always look for the practical application and impact of what is being researched and try to materialise it.
- Interest in applying the above to the construction and infrastructure sector.
