A new Cemex additive allows any conventional concrete to be used in 3D printing

The company Cemex has developed an innovative solution that allows conventional concrete to be used in the 3D printers of Cobod, a printing technology company for construction. This is the D.fab range of additives that, when added to any concrete, transforms the material into a versatile, more fluid and manageable mixture, which works optimally and efficiently with 3D printers.

The company Cobod  has used this additive for the first time in Luanda, the capital of Angola, where the construction company Power2Build has used it to build a 3D printed concrete house. Thanks to this product, local materials (aggregates) can be used to manufacture the concrete, since the resulting mixture has the optimal consistency for this type of printers.

Benefits of the D.fab additive range

The solution for 3D printing allows the use of conventional concrete, offering the possibility of consuming local and readily available materials. It is an additive that offers great benefits to meet the affordable housing needs of the world since materials that are as economical as concrete are required.

With this Cemex solution, the strength and quality of the product combined with the speed and automation of 3D printing, you can help solve the crisis of affordable housing in Angola and elsewhere, as highlighted by Power2Build.
