BUILDING REVOLUTION - Success at the 1st Congress on Innovation in Construction
Professionals leading the national and international sphere gathered in Murcia to explore the latest trends in architecture, industrialized construction, and digital and sustainable transformation.
The event took place at the "Víctor Villegas" Auditorium and Congress Center in Murcia on February 29th. Organized by the Institute for the Promotion of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with FRECOM and CTCON, the event brought together over 200 distinguished professionals from the industry.
The congress kicked off with an opening address by FRECOM's President, Mr. José Hernández, followed by a keynote speech by Mr. Fernando Trías de Bes, a renowned economist and author, who addressed the crucial role of innovation in the construction industry.
The program included roundtable discussions covering key topics such as "Building the Future," "Digital Transformation and Industrialization in Construction," moderated by our President, Mr. Antonio Navarro, and "Innovation, Sustainability, and Public-Private Collaboration." Prominent representatives from leading companies such as Ferrovial, ACCIONA, AEDAS Homes, Hozono Global, Ninety Days, Lignum Tech, the National Confederation of Construction, CaixaBank, and INFO shared their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
The importance of digital transformation was a recurring theme throughout the event. Experts like Mr. Juan López Payá and Mr. Alejandro de Zunzunegui emphasized the need to adopt artificial intelligence and other technologies to drive efficiency and competitiveness.
The final roundtable of the congress focused on sustainability, where Mr. Pedro Fernández Alén urged the industry to address decarbonization and the rehabilitation of the built environment. The need for institutional support and commitment to reducing carbon footprint were highlighted aspects.
