CTCON paper selected for an international congress on acoustics
The paper "Acoustic properties of high-capacity asphalt mixtures with different aggregate sizes" from the Terrestrial Infrastructures area of the Centro Tecnológico de la Construcción has been selected for presentation at the next congress on acoustics organized by the Portuguese Acoustics Association and the European Acoustics Association.
The reduction of the sound pressure generated in the tire-road interaction becomes a key point to reduce traffic noise and to make vehicles quieter both inside and outside. To obtain these benefits, asphalt pavements for noise reduction must have a high percentage of voids (around 15-20%) that allow air to flow through their porous structure, but still show good durability and retain the structural capacity of the bituminous mix layer.
The findings will be presented online at Euronoise2021 from October 25-27.
