The ECOCEM project allows the launch of a new range of products based on alkaline activated cementitious materials
The ECOCEM project began in 2018 with the aim of developing hydraulic binders with an almost zero carbon footprint from geopolymers, for the final obtaining of products that have significant technical advantages over conventional products.
This month the magazine CPI (Concrete Plan International) publishes an article https://www.cpi-worldwide.com/en/channels/masa about one of the products developed within this project: Concrete sanitation pipes resistant to acid attacks.
ECOCEM is a project in which the following have participated:
The Construction Technology Centre
Cementos Cruz,
Urdecon
Bortubo,
The UPCT and
the University of Alicante
Thanks to all the participants, several products have already been patented after obtaining excellent results and ends with the launch of a new range of products based on alkaline activated cementitious materials that is a great milestone in the cement industry, contributing to a circular economy and the reduction of greenhouse gases.
