The latest innovations and projects in 2D and 3D industrialization will be showcased at Rebuild 2021.
Industrialization is one of the pillars of new construction and also one of the main lines of action of Rebuild, the boutique event to promote the transformation of building, which will hold a new edition from September 21 to 23 at Ifema Madrid. This year, Rebuild 2021 will unveil several innovative projects that are committed to industrialization, a construction model that is making a strong entry into building.
In recent years, the building sector has gradually undergone a transformation that has led to an increase in projects based on industrialization, i.e., the manufacture of components in an industrial building for subsequent assembly on site. Within this construction model, there are two types of industrialized construction: 2D and 3D.
The first refers to the manufacture of structural elements that are already prefabricated and assembled on site. Here the industrialization process stops at the structural part, with conventional construction parameters intervening for the rest of the work execution. As for 3D, its production applies the same standardization systems as in the manufacture of a car. The house is already built almost entirely using 3D cubes which, when they arrive at the site, only need to be joined together, installations checked and the systems fine-tuned. This type of construction allows 90% of the work to be carried out in a closed and controlled environment.
Industrialization Forum
In this sense, the National Congress of Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0 will host the Industrialization Forum, in which, in different sessions and with experts in this construction system, the use of different materials such as concrete, steel or wood in industrialized construction will be analyzed, and the different 2D and 3D modular systems will be discussed.
In addition, several companies will present their industrialized construction projects at Rebuild, ranging from steel structures in the factory that are then transferred to the construction site to 2D solutions in wood construction that offer the possibility of carrying out projects according to Passivhaus standard criteria. For its part, Room2030 will bring to Rebuild its housing module, a new project of industrialized technological rooms with which to respond to projects for hotels, residential buildings, residences, coliving and build to rent buildings.
In a further step, the possibility of carrying out projects based on the application of this technique for high-rise buildings, based on prefabricated concrete and noble qualities, will also be presented. In this regard, the only high-rise residential building built industrially in our country, a build to rent project of 124 homes, stands out.
Also, with the help of the best experts, Rebuild 2021 will delve into Ávit-a, a pioneering Integrated Industrialized Construction System that aims to achieve that nearly 100% of the elements are industrialized, thus covering all the elements that make up the building, from the structure to the intelligent electronic devices for IoT, through connections, insulation, finishes, enclosures, sanitary, ventilation systems, air conditioning or fire protection, among others.
